Installing Your House Sign

You should have the following parts from me:

  • House Sign
  • Rawl Plugs
  • Screws
  • Screw Caps

Additional tools you will need:

  • Spirit Level
  • Pencil
  • Drill
  • 5mm & 8mm Drill Bit
  • Screwdriver

Please read all instructions carefully before proceeding and note that I do not take any responsibility for incorrectly installed signs or drilled holes.  If you are missing any pieces from your fixing kit, please contact me before you start installation.

  1. I recommend that you use the house sign as a template for making the drill hole centres.  Place your sign against the wall where it is going to be fixed.  Using the spirit level to make sure that your sign is level, mark the centre of the holes with the pencil.
  2. Using the 5mm drill bit, drill into the wall to create a pilot hole.  Using the 8mm drill bit, drill into the wall following the pilot hole and then insert the rawl plugs.  If you are installing the house sign onto a wooden surface, then there’s no need to use the rawl plugs but you may need to still drill the pilot hole first.
  3. If you are using the plastic screw caps, then push the screw through the hole so that the cap will fit over the head when screwed to the wall and sign.  If you are using the metal disc caps, then move onto step 4.
  4. Place the house sign against the wall, gently push the screws through the hole into the top of the rawl plug and begin tightening with the screwdriver.  Do not overtighten as you may break your sign!
  5. Once the sign is secure, simply push the plastic cap onto the washer base until it is firmly in place or screw the metal disc cap into the head of the screw until it is secure.
